However, the seats have to face forwards and there's no room for a shopping bag underneath and you'll need a sidepack for this.
Mountain Buggy Duet will be an ideal choice when you love off-roading. It's a side-by-side with the slimmest footprint of any double buggy available on the market. This allows it to fit through narrow doors and on public transport and also allows you to go up and down kerbs with no trouble. The adjustable handlebar has a handbrake for added security and safety.

In general the more wheels a buggy comes with the more comfortable it will be to handle over rough terrain. This is particularly true if your wheels are larger than typical size. You will have more stability and it's less likely that you need to flip or tip your child.
The most popular model is the iCandy Wave, which can be used from birth with an infant car seat, and it can be converted into a side-byside double buggy when your child is old enough to allow them to be seated next to each other. It's a light option that is easy to push. It also comes with a bumper bar and raincover.
The phil&teds sports is an alternative option. It is future-proof since it's an excellent buggy, and can be modified to take two (or three!) in its small footprint. It is an innovative three-wheel design that includes an sling to improve manoeuvrability and stability.
